there it is - the winning blow, landed fittingly by England's star all-rounder! Another slower ball but this is in the slot outside off. NSB reads the variation like the morning daily, waltzes down and creams it over extra cover. A sensational shot to cap off a sensational knock in very trying conditions. England go 20-4 against South Africa and more pertinently, solidify their place at the top of Group B!

9:10pm That will be all from us for tonight. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and hope to have your company as Australia clash with New Zealand tomorrow. Until then, this is goodbye from Ranjith and myself. Take care, everyone!
Heather Knight, England captain: (On the win) Really pleased, that was a controlled win. The way we controlled the middle overs when they were batting…the pitch was a little better than the other day. We controlled the chase brilliantly, that partnership was outstanding to watch. They are the sort of games where you love captaining because you feel you can make a difference. Sophie was back to her best. She seemed to get a bit of bounce, somehow, which is strange on this wicket. Happy with our fielding as well, our energy and intent. (On Danni Wyatt-Hodge) You can see her getting frustrated, she is not used to scoring at that strike-rate (smiles). But sometimes, it is about finding a way. Took really smart options and her and Nat - the way they controlled it, the way they ran, it was a proper job. We don't play till Sunday, so a big break. A bit of time to explore Dubai. Few are going out on the golf course tomorrow and then about refocusing after a few days off.
Laura Wolvaardt, South Africa captain: Very disappointed. 10-20 more runs, could have been interesting. Did not take our chances in the field either. Bowlers bowled well but have to tighten in those two other areas. (On the pitch) Not as slow as the other games earlier. We were talking about the 140-mark. We lost our way a little, and maybe could have started (attacking) a little earlier. (On Kapp's opening spell) Don't think you can ask for much more with the new ball. We could have been a little bit better (controlling with spin). But against such batters, it is difficult to set fields. (On the matches against Bangladesh and Scotland) Must-win games for us. Both of them could be pretty tough in these conditions and we have to be on our A-game.
Sophie Ecclestone, Player of the Match: (On her success mantra) I keep it simple and try to enjoy my cricket. I have a smile on my face at all costs. (On the wickets of Kapp and Wolvaardt) Always great to do it against the world's best. To get them out, two big wickets…glad about the win. (On playing with her England teammates) All high-class players and we work as a unit, so absolutely buzzing to be playing alongside them. Conditions are so different out here. We have been adapting well. Danni (Wyatt-Hodge) and Nat (Sciver-Brunt) played amazingly well tonight.
8:55pm Well, that was a lot tenser than England would have wanted. But to be fair to them, they had the chase pretty much in control, especially from the moment Sciver-Brunt strode out. She found the fence regularly and did so whenever the required run-rate threatened to reach alarming proportions. Wyatt-Hodge played her role too and did not let the pressure get to her, especially during a powerplay where Bouchier found the going tough. Capsey's cameo, in hindsight, was also quite handy and gave England the sort of impetus they needed at the start of the middle overs.
A massive missed opportunity for South Africa, and that is a direct reference to the catches they dropped. A couple of them were rather presentable and on another day, they might have clung on to those, which would then have swung the game. Apart from that, Kapp was superb in her opening spell, with de Klerk and Mlaba also using the conditions well. But like it felt at the half-way stage, they just did not have enough on the board.
4 off 5 now...
off-pace on a full length just outside off. NSB looks for the drive and scuffs it back to the bowler
And so, this game has come down to the final over. Not quite on a knife-edge, with England ahead at this stage. But if SA were to dismiss NSB off the first ball, who knows what might happen. Khaka to bowl...
slow, short and wide outside off. NSB keeps her eyes on the ball and forehands it towards long on
another slower ball, bowled way outside off. NSB tries to drag the sweep to cow corner but only grabs a handful of fresh air
length ball way outside off. NSB does well to reach it but can only scuff it towards cover point
Nat Sciver-Brunt finds the fence again, just when England needed her to! A rare loose ball by de Klerk. NSB picks the slower one, waits for it and shovels it past short fine leg!
slower ball on a full length wide outside off. Knight brings out the reverse and scuffs it towards short third. de Klerk appealed for a moment, not sure what that was about
full outside off. NSB comes forward and drives it towards long on
11 off 12. Still England's game to lose as Knight joins her deputy. de Klerk to bowl the penultimate over
stumped by a mile! Now then. Now then! Looped up deliciously on a length outside off. Wyatt-Hodge's eyes light up and she tears down the track. Has an almighty swish at it but only connects with fresh air. Jafta accounts for the spin off the surface and whips off the bails. Too little, too late, or is this a lifeline for SA?
fired in full on leg stump. Wyatt-Hodge nails her drive but Dercksen gets right behind it on this occasion
gets it through, and that is another fielding error! Tossed up on leg stump. Wyatt-Hodge comes out of her bunker, takes it on the full and cracks it towards cover point. Dercksen dives over it and England get four!
full ball down leg. NSB sweeps it all along the carpet to deep backward square leg
floated up full on middle and leg. Wyatt-Hodge marches down and heaves it towards deep mid wicket
low full toss down leg. NSB paddles it towards short fine leg and Wyatt-Hodge is alert enough to sneak in a single
Jafran: "The dropped chances where actually SA lose this game." -- Looking back at it, those definitely seem like vital moments that SA failed to grab (literally and metaphorically). 18 needed off 18. Mlaba to bowl out
safe again! Off-pace and hung up wide outside off for the second ball running. NSB swings across the line and skews it off the top edge. And in line with how it has been going tonight, it falls safely, just to short fine leg's right
leg-spinner on a length wide outside off. NSB has a wild swipe across the line and only swats away a few flies in the process
slower ball on a length outside off. Punched to extra cover
back of a length just outside off. NSB scuffs it back to the bowler
another Nat Sciver-Brunt special! Slower ball that pitches on a full length on leg stump. NSB walks right across, almost facing to square leg, and then scorches it to deep backward square leg's right!
bursts through the hands! Slower ball on a length on middle and leg. Wyatt-Hodge stays leg side but the lack of pace means she cannot get it over cover completely. Wolvaardt dives high to her right but only palms it over the bar. de Klerk is crestfallen!
Run-a-ball needed. de Klerk to bowl the 17th. Can she break this game open?
